(UNUSUAL) GUIDE TO THE CHANGE: Aggregate production made faster and easier

Once the overburdened materials have accumulated, they occupy large areas limiting the possibilities of further exploitation of the quarry.  The movement of these huge accumulations involves considerable costs, having to move thousands of cubic meters of material.
However, some have found a solution: installing an MB-S23 screening bucket with a 10 x 10 cm grid basket directly on the excavator already used in the quarry to obtain two types of material: the one with dimensions greater than 10 cm, retained in the basket, was loaded directly on the dumper and transported to the crushing plant for subsequent processing; while the material with dimensions less than 10 cm was used for filling and making embankments, thus avoiding further costs for disposal.

What was initially an expensive process turned into an activity that:

•  increased profit margins;
• has allowed the customer to save on hauling and cleaning costs;
• has produced inert material for its plant, also having the possibility of reselling the excess.

We often miss the fact that we sit on a pile of money. This wealth, consisting of extraction and production waste, often lies forgotten in a stockpile.

However, thanks to MB Crusher jaw crusher buckets, these unused materials:

• can be transformed into high quality resources,
• can be reused or resold.

Nothing is wasted: by exploiting the resources already available, it is possible to significantly reduce costs. This is exactly what a company in southern Italy did, which was facing a problem with its scraps of stone material. These rejects entailed high costs for transport, disposal and continuous treatment. Deciding to “change course”, the company installed a crusher bucket on its 9 tons JCB 4CX backhoe. In this way, it was able to crush the waste, producing saleable inert material suitable for use as a substrate.

The raw materials used in construction are limited, which is why the use of "secondary aggregates", such as debris from the demolition and redevelopment of disused buildings, is an advantageous practice. In the past, such materials would have been considered waste and would have be subject to landfill fees. Today, however, they are treated in such a way as to make them reusable. Making full use of the heavy machinery already on site makes this process extremely simple.

A concrete example occurred during the demolition of an old grain deposit, where with the installation of a BF90.3 crusher bucket on the excavator already present on site, it was possible to recover and resell the steel present in the reinforced concrete, while the residual material was reused as a road substrate.
